The Society at present publishes three regular books.

The Journal is a twice-yearly publication containing articles of local historical and associated interest. Articles are welcome for consideration from anyone with an interest in local history and should be sent to the Editor, Roy Turner, 3 Bamford Close, BURY, Lancashire. BL9 7TR or email with illustrations attached  if available to journal@burylhs.org.uk


‘The Forgotten Valley’ is an 80-page book written by Terry Ashworth and the late Vernon Sandiford about the valley of Cheesden Brook and its former industrial heritage.





A new reprint of Ruth Slater’s book
Out of print for nearly 30 years, ‘Bury Folk at Peterloo’ has been recently reprinted and published by the Society  to mark the 200th anniversary of the Peterloo massacre in Manchester.
